I had run several businesses in Australia when I began exploring a new chapter for our family and my business ambitions. We closed those businesses before making the move.
Leaving parents, family and close friends was difficult. As a family of six, the decision needed to work for all of us.
02 / The move
I made two solo trips to the UAE: first to explore, then to put the practical foundations in place. Around six months after deciding, we moved as a family.
We arrived without a job or income lined up. My initial plan for commission-based real estate work did not unfold as expected. Finding a workable business direction took longer than I anticipated.
03 / Today
The experience taught me that establishing a presence and building a viable business are different challenges. That distinction informs my work today.
I now help founders and established businesses assess, validate and launch in the UAE, with selective opportunities to become a venture partner.
